Lima

All ready to go from Manchester airport on the 22nd August 2010!

Arriving in Lima - our first hostel, not bad it even had English TV.

Not much to be said about Lima apart from it has a lovely area of colonial buildings. Not that much else to do apart from look at these. We decided fairly fast that we needed to move on asap.

Looks like these chaps agree with us.

Oh, there is a huge cathedral there with the most incredible ceiling...........................

.................... and many nativity scenes, like this one of the Virgin Mary, baby Jesus, Wise men, Lions, A Golden Dog, Porcupine, Tiger, Bear!!!!!!

Oh and the most ornate stable I have ever seen.

Well if you cannot embellish a little!

My big discovery, Churros & Hot Chocolate. Basically a long doughnut, absolutely yummy.

We had an amazing lunch in a small restaurant in a nunnery, served by the French nuns. No honestly we did. I had chicken with loads of spinach.

All in all Lima was a great first stop, in many ways it was much like home with a Mc D's on every corner.

Next stop Huaraz.
